Local Hero app for iPhone and iPad

A must have app to help communities fight against crime, become more aware and feel safer.

Scenario 1.

Imagine being a mum, home with the kids whilst your husband works away. Its 9pm at night and you hear what sounds like someone trying to break in. Whilst youre on hold waiting for the police help centre to answer your call, imagine placing an alert on your location on the map and labeling it "Burglar, Need Help". Several of your local neighbours also have the Local Hero app and get the alert on their phone. A few of your neighbours come outside, turn on their outside lights and head over to your house and start calling out to you. Maybe this is enough to spook the burglar and they take off, fearing theyll be caught.

Scenario 2.

Your a middle aged, 52 year old. Your wifes currently out for the day and you decide youll do some gardening. After doing some gardening, you head back inside but you really dont feel well and something isnt right. Your arm starts to feel strange and you feel strong chest pains. You find your mobile phone and dial for an ambulance as you think youre having a heart attack. Youve actually become immobile with the pain and your on hold waiting for an ambulance operator to take your call. In the meanwhile, you place a marker on your location through to Local Hero app, label it "Help, Having a Heart Attack". Several of the people in your location have the app and get the alert. A neighbour from up the street drives over to your home and comes to your aid commencing CPR as the ambulance is on its way.

There are hundreds of good and not so good reasons to keep the local community informed about, whether its a traffic accident, a community concert or even a noisy party. What about a lost dog marking its last seen location? This app is all about communication when its needed the most, whilst helping build a stronger more aware neighbourhood.


Some Key Functions:

Place markers on a map to mark events, concerns or security issues in your local area.

Label markers using a colour indicator to signal general events or major concerns.

Automatically sends an alert to other app users within a 500m radius.

Markers can be placed for 1 hour up to 1 day.
